Sports Massage Therapy/Remedial Massage
Sports Massage Therapy will benefit everyone regardless of age and ability, but has a focus on athletes and active people, concentrating on the stress they may place on their bodies. Peer is trained in applying techniques to help athletes avoid injuries, to aid recovery following an event, as well as being part of pre-event training programme to improve overall event performance.
Remedial Massage is a complementary therapy that aims to treat muscles that are damaged, knotted, tense or immobile. It is useful for many problems that affect the muscles, tendons or bones and can address a number of health problems. This is great for any age or ability. The goal is to make you feel better and move better.
Medical Acupuncture
Acupuncture needles are used to alleviate your trigger points. When dry needling is applied to your muscles and tissues, it can decrease tightness, increase blood flow and reduce local and referred pain. Peer uses acupuncture needles that don't contain any kind of medication. This is why the technique is called “dry needling".
Massage for Cancer Patients
Cancer Massage is a specialised, therapeutic approach designed to support people who are living with cancer, recovering from treatment, or adjusting after remission. It is a gentle, adaptable form of massage that prioritises safety, comfort, and the unique needs of each individual.
This type of massage is based on the principles taught in Susan Findlay’s oncology massage training, which emphasises:
Clinical understanding of how cancer and its treatments affect the body
Safe, evidence‑informed techniques that avoid strain, pressure, or risk
Individualised care, adapting every session to your energy levels, symptoms, and medical history
A supportive, nurturing environment where your wellbeing is the focus
Cancer Massage does not aim to “treat” cancer. Instead, it helps ease the physical and emotional side effects of treatment. Clients often report benefits such as:
- Reduced anxiety and stress
- Improved sleep and relaxation
- Relief from muscle tension and discomfort
- Support with fatigue
- A greater sense of wellbeing and connection
Every session is tailored to what your body needs on the day. Whether you are undergoing treatment, recovering, or living beyond cancer, Cancer Massage offers safe, compassionate
support to help you feel more at ease in your body.
